Vintage Adams Old English Staffordshire Ware plate featuring The Twin Peaks of Otter, Blue Ridge Parkway, Virginia. Classic red transferware with floral border. Made in Staffordshire, England and imported for the Virginia Peaks of Otter Company, Bedford, VA. A collectible souvenir plate ideal for Staffordshire pottery, Blue Ridge Parkway, and transferware collectors.
This vintage plate was produced by Adams Pottery of Staffordshire, England, a firm established in 1657 and renowned for its fine earthenware and transferware. Part of the Old English Staffordshire Ware souvenir line, this piece was specially commissioned for the Virginia Peaks of Otter Company to be sold at the Peaks of Otter Lodge and Visitor Center along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.
The design features a detailed red transfer scene of The Twin Peaks of Otter, one of the most iconic and photographed landscapes along the Parkway. The wide floral border showcases intricate roses, thistles, and foliage, a hallmark of traditional Staffordshire artistry.
Souvenir transferware of this type was popular during the mid-20th century (1930s–1960s), when travel and tourism expanded in America. These plates served both as decorative art and as keepsakes of cherished journeys. Today, they are highly collectible for enthusiasts of Staffordshire pottery, Americana, and Blue Ridge Parkway history.
