Impressive 15.5-inch Andrea by Sadek Famille Rose style charger plate, hand-painted with intricate floral, bird, and butterfly motifs in vibrant pinks, greens, and blues. Features scalloped section design with gilt accents. Back marked "Andrea by Sadek" with original label. A rare larger size, ideal as a wall hanging, statement centerpiece, or collector’s display.
Andrea by Sadek, a respected American importer of fine porcelain and decorative arts since 1936, specialized in bringing high-quality reproductions and Asian-inspired designs to Western collectors. Their famille rose-inspired porcelain pieces drew heavily from the Qing Dynasty style, featuring multicolor enamels with rich pink, green, and blue floral patterns, often paired with butterflies and birds.
This extra-large 15 3/4 inch charger plate is an outstanding example, designed for decorative display. The wide rim is divided into panels filled with lush blossoms and songbirds, surrounding a central floral medallion with butterflies in flight. Such pieces were intended to evoke the elegance of 18th–19th century Chinese export porcelain, while being made accessible for modern collectors and decorators.
